Pecan Harvest Abita Pecan Ale is brewed with pale, Munich, biscuit and caramel malts and Willamette hops. Real Louisiana roasted pecans are added in the brewhouse and give the ale a subtle nutty flavor and aroma. Abita 5.1% Harvest Ale
Triple Haze A generous amount of fresh raspberry puree is added. Because we use real fruit you may see raspberry pulp in the beer. This gives the beer a tartly sweet taste and aroma, as well as a bright purple color and haze. Abita 8% American Wheat Ale

Beer Education

There are primarily two (2) types of beers: ales and lagers.

Ale is a type of beer brewed from malted barley using a warm fermentation with a strain of brewers' yeast. The yeast will ferment the beer quickly, giving it a sweet, full bodied and fruity taste. Most ales contain hops, which help preserve the beer and impart a bitter herbal flavour that balances the sweetness of the malt.

Lager is a type of beer made from malted barley that is brewed and stored at low temperatures. There are many types of lager; pale lager is the most widely-consumed and commercially available style of beer in the world; Pilsner, Bock, Dortmunder Export and Märzen are all styles of lager. There are also dark lagers, such as Dunkel and Schwarzbier.
