Our goal is simple: deliver amazing craft beer and outstanding fine dining to the people of Sauk Rapids, Saint Cloud, Sartell, Waite Park and the surrounding area.

Obsidian Deep, robust and richly rewarding, this is beer to linger over. Obsidian has distinct notes of espresso, chocolate, roasted malt and black barley, with just enough hop bite to cut the sweetness. Deschutes 6.4% Stout
Bomb! Bomb! is an imperial stout aged on coffee, chocolate, vanilla beans, and ancho chili peppers. The peppers add just the right amount of heat to complement the intense coffee and chocolate flavors. Prairie 13.0% Imperial Stout 
Outer Darkness The combination of rich roasted barley, oak, molasses and liquorice root combine to create an utterly unique and complex imperial stout. Squatters 10.5% Russian Imperial Stout
Hop Stoopid We went toward the flavor and aromas in this beer and used hop extract for our bittering addition to keep the beer huge on the flavor, letting the malt keep up with the bitterness to make you want another. And another. Then you get stoopid. Lagunitas 8.0% Imperial IPA
PC Pils Piney Chinook, pleasantly citrus Cascade and punchy Centennial make this an easy- drinker with floral hop characteristics. Pretty cool, if you ask us. Founders 5.5% Pilsner
Batch 300 It’s an IPA built on a base of Weyermann Pilsner malt and heavily hopped from start to finish with Mosaic, one of our favorite — and unfortunately nearly impossible to find — hop varieties. Fulton 7.0% American IPA
1.21 Gigahops  The aroma and flavor of this beer are dominated by ripe, tropical fruits, citrus and pine sap. With over seven pounds of hops per barrel, this is an intensely hoppy beer, but remains very drinkable. Fargo 9.5% Double IPA
Standard Standard Lager is genuine all-malt beer, made from 2-row barley malt, American hops, and Pilsner yeast. Easy drinking but not watered down, we brew Standard without rice or corn for a more
satisfying, full-flavored lager experience.
Fulton 4.5% Lager
Lonely Blonde The Lonely Blonde wears a delicate fragrance of German noble hops, and slips a touch of white wheat between American pale and crystal malts for a smooth, sensuous body, fair complexion, and a pleasantly lacy white head. Fulton 4.8% Blonde Ale
Sweet Child of Vine Generous quantities of CTZ and Glacier hops are added throughout the boil. Then, late in fermentation, we infuse the Sweet Child with another dose of Glaciers, imparting a bouquet of hop aroma. Fulton 6.4% American IPA
Alaskan White Soft, slightly sweet base with the unique spice aroma of coriander and crisp, citrus finish of orange peel. A light, effervescent body combined with the smooth palate creates enjoyable complexity for all the seasons. Alaskan 5.3% Witbier
Hopcromancer Biscuit like malt character with lots of juicy hops. Generously hopped throughout the boil, and dry hopped twice for extra depth of hop aroma. Pineapple,citrus, melon, and just a hint of pine. Bad Weather 7% American IPA
Ripple This fresh, German inspired ale is golden in color with a cracker-like malt profile. Couple that with the perfect balance of floral/spicy German hops from St. Cloud’s sister city Spalt, Germany. Beaver Island 4.8% German Style Ale
88.1 Ale With this brew, extended conditioning mellows out the fruitiness while two kettle additions of Spalter hops from our sister city lend to a dry finish resulting in a balanced, approachable ALTernative ale. Beaver Island 4.7% Alt Ale 
Crosby Pilsen Mash The name Crosby Pilsen Mash not only pays tribute to an iconic American band but also one of our hop growers (Crosby Hop Farm) Brewed with a rare German heritage barley and loaded with Czech hops. Beaver Island 7.5% Dopple Pils 
Fabulous Armadillo  Made with experimental Armadillo hops. This session IPA has a wonderful hop aroma yet remains refreshing and light. A late addition of Armadillo hops contribute tangerine and clementine flavors. Beaver Island 4.7% Session IPA
’39 Red Artfully blended British and Belgium malts contribute a slight roast/dark fruit canvas for broad sweeps of Pacific Northwest hops that give a firm bitterness and a citrus dominated flavor and nose. Beaver Island 6.9% American IPA
Two Hearted Ale Massive additions of Centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest during the boil and fermentation provides grapefruit and pine resin aromas that are balanced by malts and fruit notes from the signature house yeast. Bell’s 7% American IPA
Old No. 56 Named after the fire truck the city of Lucan bought in 1956, this crisp light lager is for hot days, cold days, and every day in between. Brau Brothers 4.2 American Lager
Double Crossing  We put an amazing amount of hops into this beer, 4lbs per BBL! It has a lot of tropical fruit and citrus going on, and clocks in at 9.1% ABV. It is highly drinkable and balanced, despite the crazy amount of hops. Castle Danger 9.1% Imperial IPA
Day Tripper  Four pounds of hops per barrel give this West Coast inspired pale ale a heady, dank, and citrus laced aroma all supported by a malt backbone complex enough to keep this from being a one-hop trick pony. Indeed 5.4% Pale Ale
Let it Ride Brewed with an unfettered blend of Mosaic, Calypso, and El Dorado hops, Let it Ride IPA freewheels on the nose with notes of blueberry, pear, and tropical fruit. Take a deep breath and hop on. Indeed 5.4% Pale Ale
Tequila Barrel Cider  Traditional Wyder’s  Pear cider infused with smooth subtle oak laden tequila notes. Refreshing pear cider crafted with some inspiration from south of the boarder. Wyder’s 6.9% Hard Cider
Fresh Squeezed This mouthwateringly delicious IPA gets its flavor from a heavy helping of citra and mosaic hops. Don’t worry, no fruit was harmed in the making of this beer. Deschutes 6.0% American IPA
Devil’s Companion London-style brown porter. The forefront of this beer is malt with a delicate, distinct dark chocolate overlapping a subtle toffee character. Insight 5.3% American Porter
Fenceline By pushing nearly all the hop additions to the end of the boil and dosing the beer with even more hops in the fermenter, this mild-mannered pale ale is bursting with hop character. Jack Pine 5.4% American Pale Ale
Big Wave Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor — a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. Kona 4.4% Golden Ale
Lil Sumpin’ Sumpin’ A truly unique style featuring a strong hop finish on a silky body. A hoppy pale wheat ale that is great for IPA fans but so smooth that the hefeweizen fans dig it too. Lagunitas 7.5% American IPA
Farm Girl Pale and golden for all the farm girls and wannabes. Dry malt finish and spiciness that only Belgian yeasts can create. Pleasant peach aroma and flavor with a spritzed effervescence. This beer can satisfy everyone! Lift Bridge 6% Saison / Farmhouse Ale
Wolf Pup  Classic Session IPA. Light in body and color. Lots of tropical fruit and citrus aroma and flavor. Finishing pleasantly dry. Golden Road 4.5% Session IPA
Space Dust The hopping is pure starglow energy, with Chinook to bitter and late and dry additions of Citra and Amarillo. Elysian 7.5% American IPA
Dragon’s Milk Roasty malt character intermingled with deep vanilla tones, all dancing in an oak bath. New Holland 10% American Stout
Bretta IPA This Hop Kitchen release dares to cross wickedly wild Brettanomyces yeast with some  fruity hop varieties.This IPA’s citrusy, piney hop notes courtesy of Equinox, Galaxy and Warrior riff off the yeast’s pineapple flavors. New Belgium 7.5% Brett IPA
Myrcenary Named for myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, this DIPA is brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest level of myrcene that prevails with tropical notes with light fruits and floral. Odell 9.3% Double India Pale Ale
Troll Way Bitter and balanced. A West Coast style IPA. Brilliant bouquet of grapefruit and tropical fruit on the nose with hints of peach and lemon zest. Insight 7% American IPA
Banshee Cutter Aromas of a light roast with slight characters of citrus and honey roll off the frothing head, leading to a crisp coffee sweetness. The balanced acidity of the coffee blends perfectly with the light malty characters, leading to a brilliantly smooth, latte-like creaminess to the brew. Insight 5.5% Coffee Golden Ale
Double IPA Utilizing a highly aromatic and experimental ORBIT hop blend from New Zealand and the new US variety, Equinox, this beer has a bold citrus and tropical fruit hop character, with a subtle malt background of toast and caramel. Summit 8.5% Double India Pale Ale
Wit Bier Lightly hopped with aromas of spice, citrus and flowers. Summit Wit Bier will refresh you with a slightly tart, dry finish. Summit 4.8% Wit Bier
Saga IPA Named after the Norse goddess Saga, drinking companion of the God Odin. With a divine tropical fruit hop aroma and clean, assertive bitterness. Summit 6.2% IPA
Free Speech With 5.5% alcohol, nutty roasted malts, moderate hop character, and a caramel fringe, Free Speech Red Ale is a powerful blend of flavors. Just like the good old U.S. of A. Third Street 5.5% American Amber / Red Ale
Botanical Blonde Juniper, Coriander, Spruce Tips, Cardamom, Rosemary, Lemon Peel, Lavender, Bitter Orange Peel, Cinnamon, Sage, Anise Seed are all present and balance against the malt sweetness of our Paddle Break Blonde with an effervescent carbonation to carry the aromatics forth Bent Paddle 6.0% Blonde Ale
St. Gail Don’t be fooled by this beer’s pink lemonade looks – this love triangle between raspberries, honey, and Belgian ale may seem sweet on the surface, but at 7.2% it’s seemingly innocent smile is actually a subtle sin grin. Lakes & Legends 7.5% Raspberry Braggot
Strawberry Shandy We combined strawberries with our signature Honeycrisp apples and lemonade to form a strawberry, apple-y, lemony, deliciously awesome… thingy. Enjoy Loon Juice 5.5% Hard Cider
Hefeweizen Schell’s Hefeweizen is made with 60% wheat malts and 40% barley malt. We use an authentic wheat beer yeast culture, which gives the beer a fruity ale character dominated by a citrus- like tartness Schell’s 4.4% Hefeweizen
White Traditional pilsner malt, bitter orange peel and coriander for spicing, with a touch of chamomile set SEB White apart from most others. With so much flavor in this easy- drinking beer there is no need for a slice of orange peel on your glass! Starry Eyed Wit Bier
Kirsche Berliner Weiss Tart cherry berliner weiss. The taste is refreshing, tart, sour and acidic, with a lemony- citric fruit sharpness and almost no hop bitterness. Rush River 4.0% Berliner Weiss
Double Ringer Our Double IPA celebrates the spring culture of the Upper Peninsula. Robust and hop-forward, Double Ringer offers a blend of pine and tropical fruit aromas, with a bit of malt backbone. Upper Hand 10% Double IPA

Fine Whiskey

Our Whiskey / Scotch Selection (Subject to Change)

Though the exact origins of Scotch are unknown, legend has it the secrets of distillation came to the Scots by way of Ireland here it was introduced by St. Patrick in the fifth century. Scotch was called ‘uisge beatha’ in Gaelic or ‘aqua vitae’ in Latin, both translated as ‘water of life’. Traditionally, Scotch came from four distilling regions: Lowland, Highland, Islay and Campbeltown. Speyside is now distinguished from the Highlands, while the Islands remain a part of that region. Old Capital Tavern encourages you to explore the history, tradition, and character offered by each region.

Bourbon & Rye

Distilling probably arrived in what would later become known as Kentucky when Scottish, Irish, and other settlers began to farm the area in earnest in the late 18th century. The spirit they made evolved and became known as bourbon in the early 19th century. Likely, this was due to its historical association with the geographic area known as Old Bourbon which consisted of the original Bourbon County of Virginia created in 1795 and included much of today’s eastern Kentucky, including the current Bourbon County. Celebrate immigration and the delicious repeal of Prohibition.
