Ripple This fresh, German inspired ale is golden in color with a cracker-like malt profile. Couple that with the perfect balance of floral/spicy German hops from St. Cloud’s sister city Spalt, Germany. Beaver Island 4.8% German Style Ale
Mai Bock To commemorate the season we have meticulously crafted our first Maibock (literally May Bock). A careful blend of imported German malts, a rush of German aromatic hops, and a long cold aging process result in a balanced Brew. Beaver Island 6.9% Mai Bock
Revolution 2 This year we’ve created some single hop goodness using Denali hops, with are causing quite a stir in brewing circles. This brew is bursting with tropical, stone fruit, and citrus flavors and aromas. Beaver Island 6.4% American IPA
’39 Red Artfully blended British and Belgium malts contribute a slight roast/dark fruit canvas for broad sweeps of Pacific Northwest hops that give a firm bitterness and a citrus dominated flavor and nose. Beaver Island 6.9% American IPA
Two Hearted Ale Massive additions of Centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest during the boil and fermentation provides grapefruit and pine resin aromas that are balanced by malts and fruit notes from the signature house yeast. Bell’s 7% American IPA

Old No. 56 Named after the fire truck the city of Lucan bought in 1956, this crisp light lager is for hot days, cold days, and every day in between. Brau Brothers 4.2 American Lager
Double Crossing  We put an amazing amount of hops into this beer, 4lbs per BBL! It has a lot of tropical fruit and citrus going on, and clocks in at 9.1% ABV. It is highly drinkable and balanced, despite the crazy amount of hops. Castle Danger 9.1% Imperial IPA
Hard Cider Semi sweet with a dry crisp bite made with local Honey Crisp, Sweet Tango, and Haralson apples. Rush River 5% Hard Apple Cider
LSD A kaleidoscopic combination of Lavender, Sunflower Honey, and Dates set the stage for a mind-bending beer experience as delicate floral aromas dance atop rich notes of fruit, and honey. Indeed 7.2% Honey Ale
First Press Cider Made with from juice of Washington State apples. The juice is then fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Special hard-cider yeast from France to set their cider apart from others. Ciderboys 5.0 Hard Apple Cider
Nitro Obsidian Deep, robust and richly rewarding, this is beer to linger over. Obsidian has distinct notes of espresso, chocolate, roasted malt and black barley, with just enough hop bite to cut the sweetness. Deschutes 6.4% American Stout
Fresh Squeezed This mouthwateringly delicious IPA gets its flavor from a heavy helping of citra and mosaic hops. Don’t worry, no fruit was harmed in the making of this beer. Deshutes 6.0% American IPA
Passion Fruit Kicker Smooth brew with sweet, tart, fruity flavor. We layer passion fruit tea and passion fruit juice with wheat malt and 2-row malted barley to bring you this exhilarating crowd pleaser. Green Flash 5.5% Wheat Ale
Hell or High Watermelon We start by brewing a classic American wheat beer, which undergoes a traditional secondary fermentation using fresh watermelon. A straw-colored, refreshing beer with a kiss of watermelon aroma and flavor. 21st Amendment 4.9% Wheat Ale
Batch 300 It’s an IPA built on a base of Weyermann Pilsner malt and heavily hopped from start to finish with Mosaic, one of our favorite — and unfortunately nearly impossible to find — hop varieties. Fulton 7.0% American IPA
Libertine Loaded with malts that include the UK’s premium Maris Otter and Caramel 60, and topped off with Rye to impart a distinct reddish hue. It boasts a rich, indulgent body without being overly sweet. Fulton 8.5% Imperial Red
Devil’s Companion London-style brown porter. The forefront of this beer is malt with a delicate, distinct dark chocolate overlapping a subtle toffee character. Insight 5.3% American Porter

Lil Sumpin’ Sumpin’ A truly unique style featuring a strong hop finish on a silky body. A hoppy pale wheat ale that is great for IPA fans but so smooth that the hefeweizen fans dig it too. Lagunitas 7.5% American IPA
Night Time Kinda like Daytime’s big, dark and scary sidekick, this ale is packed full of highly roasted malts then bitterly balanced with fistfuls of the dankest hops. Not for the lunch crowd or the faint of heart. Lagunitas 8% Black IPA
Ripper While some might think it lingers on an edge far closer to an IPA, with all the dry-hop flavor and aroma, it’s actually right in line with the current-day interpretation of a West Coast pale. Stone 5.7% American Pale Ale

Space Dust The hopping is pure starglow energy, with Chinook to bitter and late and dry additions of Citra and Amarillo. Elysian 7.5% American IPA
Dragon’s Milk Roasty malt character intermingled with deep vanilla tones, all dancing in an oak bath. New Holland 10% American Stout
Apocalypse IPA Fruity and citrusy hop aroma shines, with hints of pine resin. The four hop flavor dominates, re-enforcing the aroma with more citrus, fruity and piney notes. 10 Barrel 6.8% American IPA
Bretta IPA This Hop Kitchen release dares to cross wickedly wild Brettanomyces yeast with some  fruity hop varieties.This IPA’s citrusy, piney hop notes courtesy of Equinox, Galaxy and Warrior riff off the yeast’s pineapple flavors. New Belgium 7.5% Brett IPA
Runoff Red IPA With a complex malt backbone dry hopped for notes of citrus and pine, it’s almost as surprising as the season itself. Odell 6.5% American IPA
Myrcenary Named for myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, this DIPA is brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest level of myrcene that prevails with tropical notes with light fruits and floral. Odell 9.3% Double India Pale Ale
Fleur De Houblon Fleur de Houblon (Hop Flowers) is a rich gold color with distinct floral hops in the aroma that follow through in the taste. Whole-cone Bravo hops are used to impart their earthy, fruity, and floral aromas and flavors. Ommegang 6.8% Belgian
Pompeii Just as Mount Vesuvius preserved the complex mosaics of Pompeii, this single-hop IPA preserves the luxurious taste of the Mosaic hop. Toppling Goliath 6.7% American IPA
Troll Way Bitter and balanced. A West Coast style IPA. Brilliant bouquet of grapefruit and tropical fruit on the nose with hints of peach and lemon zest. Insight 7% American IPA
Enjoy By 4/20/17 This is a beer brewed not to last.  A devastatingly fresh double IPA with a short shelf life. This devastatingly dank stash of our dry-hopped, hop-bursted double IPA won’t last long. Stone 9.4% Double India Pale Ale

Fine Whiskey

Our Whiskey / Scotch Selection (Subject to Change)

Though the exact origins of Scotch are unknown, legend has it the secrets of distillation came to the Scots by way of Ireland here it was introduced by St. Patrick in the fifth century. Scotch was called ‘uisge beatha’ in Gaelic or ‘aqua vitae’ in Latin, both translated as ‘water of life’. Traditionally, Scotch came from four distilling regions: Lowland, Highland, Islay and Campbeltown. Speyside is now distinguished from the Highlands, while the Islands remain a part of that region. Old Capital Tavern encourages you to explore the history, tradition, and character offered by each region.

Bourbon & Rye

Distilling probably arrived in what would later become known as Kentucky when Scottish, Irish, and other settlers began to farm the area in earnest in the late 18th century. The spirit they made evolved and became known as bourbon in the early 19th century. Likely, this was due to its historical association with the geographic area known as Old Bourbon which consisted of the original Bourbon County of Virginia created in 1795 and included much of today’s eastern Kentucky, including the current Bourbon County. Celebrate immigration and the delicious repeal of Prohibition.
