Fade to Black  Drifting further into the darkness with each passing day. Volume 1 – Foreign Stout – Pours black with licorice, espresso bean, molasses, and black cardamom notes that give way to a feeling of self loathing, burnt opportunities and smoked relationships. Rupture  By grinding the whole hop we “rupture” the lupulin inside – releasing the oils that give the beer its flavor. Leaving you a beer that’s fresh, aromatic, with a bright hoppy character.  Odell  4.9%  Fresh Grind Ale
Batch 300 It’s an IPA built on a base of Weyermann Pilsner malt and heavily hopped from start to finish with Mosaic, one of our favorite — and unfortunately nearly impossible to find — hop varieties.  Fulton  6.9%  IPA
 Firefly Rye  Brewed for hot days and crisp cool nights, FIREFLY reminds you of summer while giving a glimpse of fall. Pouring golden with orange hues, FIREFLY serves up a healthy dose of spicy rye with bright flashes of fruity hops.  Bad weather  5.5%  Rye Pale Ale
Alaskan White Soft, slightly sweet base with the unique spice aroma of coriander and crisp, citrus finish of orange peel. A light, effervescent body combined with the smooth palate creates enjoyable complexity for all the seasons. Alaskan 5.3% Witbier
Ripple This fresh, German inspired ale is golden in color with a cracker-like malt profile. Couple that with the perfect balance of floral/spicy German hops from St. Cloud’s sister city Spalt, Germany. Beaver Island 4.8% German Style Ale
Coconut Sweet Mississippi Made from a blend of the UK’s finest malts, flaked oats, milk sugar and fair trade cacao nibs from Ecuador. Infused with cocunut, this careful combination of flavors creates alchemy in the glass; thick, rich, and delicious. Beaver Island 6.5% Sweet Stout
’39 Red Artfully blended British and Belgium malts contribute a slight roast/dark fruit canvas for broad sweeps of Pacific Northwest hops that give a firm bitterness and a citrus dominated flavor and nose. Beaver Island 6.9% American IPA
Two Hearted Ale Massive additions of Centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest during the boil and fermentation provides grapefruit and pine resin aromas that are balanced by malts and fruit notes from the signature house yeast. Bell’s 7% American IPA
Best Brown Ale   A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown is a mainstay in our fall lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. Bell’s 5.8% Brown Ale
Flesh and Blood IPA Brewed with mouth-puckering lemon flesh, sweet orange peel and blood orange juice, Flesh & Blood balances the resinous hoppy characteristics of an American IPA with the explosive zesty fruitiness and subtle drying tartness of citrus. DogFish Head 7.5% IPA
 Enjoy by 10.31.17  Not only did we brew this beer with more than 10 different hops, we brewed it specifically NOT to last. Acclaimed for its groundbreakingly short shelf life, this intense double IPA brought forth a whole new concept of what constitutes “fresh” — guaranteeing fans the ultimate level of hoppiness.  Stone  9.4%  Double IPA
Old No. 56 Named after the fire truck the city of Lucan bought in 1956, this crisp light lager is for hot days, cold days, and every day in between. Brau Brothers 4.2% American Lager
Peach Bum  Aromas of fresh peaches, apricots and blueberries wet your whistle for a dip into this refreshingly fruity Peach IPA. Buoyed by subtle notes of peach cobbler and tart citrus, Peach Bum bobs on waves of tropical-tasting hops. Indeed 5.4% IPA
Fenceline By pushing nearly all the hop additions to the end of the boil and dosing the beer with even more hops in the fermenter, this mild-mannered pale ale is bursting with hop character. Jack Pine 5.4% American Pale Ale
Farm Girl Pale and golden for all the farm girls and wannabes. Dry malt finish and spiciness that only Belgian yeasts can create. Pleasant peach aroma and flavor with a spritzed effervescence. This beer can satisfy everyone! Lift Bridge 6% Saison / Farmhouse Ale
Dragon’s Milk Roasty malt character intermingled with deep vanilla tones, all dancing in an oak bath. New Holland 10% American Stout
Myrcenary Named for myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, this DIPA is brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest level of myrcene that prevails with tropical notes with light fruits and floral. Odell 9.3% Double India Pale Ale
Valve Jockey #3  Brewed with primarily English malts and yeast, you can expect a nuanced dried fruit/breadiness with a solid supporting a surprising citrus hop presence from the use of citra and cascade hops. Bent Paddle 7.1% Session Barleywine
IPA We use varieties of highly aromatic American hops to create a distinctive bitterness profile and an incredible hop character. Odell 7.0% IPA
 Mosaic Promise  The versatility of the hop’s pleasing aroma and flavor characteristics and the traditional barley’s depth of flavor comprise this clean, rich, golden beer.  Founders  5.5%  Single Hop Ale
Caramel Apple Despite our name, Loon Juice contains zero traces of loon. Because that would be gross. Instead, all of our cans contain the perfect combination of nature and fun—two things we can all agree on. Loon Juice 5.5% Hard Cider
14 ESB Our ESB is incredibly well balanced with a slight toasted malt flavor, traditional British hop accents with just a hint of pine and citrus from the unexpected Amarillo/ Ahtanum dry-hop. Bent Paddle  5.6% ESB
 Barrel Aged Nevermore Nevermore Chocolate Oatmeal Stout aged in Bourbon Barrels, blended 60/40 with fresh Nevermore. Rush River 8.0% Chocolate Oatmeal Stout
Fresh Squeezed This mouthwateringly delicious IPA gets its flavor from a heavy helping of citra and mosaic hops. Don’t worry, no fruit was harmed in the making of this beer. Deschutes  6.4% IPA
Pompeii This single-hop IPA offers a floral aroma and a truly complex “mosaic” of taste: dark citrus and pineapple flavors, with deep earthy undertones and a persistent bitterness in the finish. Toppling Goliath  5.5% IPA
Blood Orange IPA Four hop varieties and seven blood oranges ago, our founders brought forth in this brewery, a new beer, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that not all IPAs are created equal. Because sometimes, real fruit just makes things even more delicious. 21st Amendment  7.0% IPA
Pinner With tropical fruits, citrus juices, pineapple and spice berry up front in the aroma and flavor, the biscuit & toasted bread at the back balance out all the hops and make a great finish to go on to your next can of PINNER. Dales Pale Ale  Delivers a hoppy nose and assertive-but-balanced flavors of pale malts and citrusy floral hops from start to finish. Oscar Blues  6.5% Pale Ale 
Worthy Adversary  Beneath the shadowy exterior, a swirling ambush of coffee and dark chocolate flavors lurk atop a mountain of malt. For much of the year, the Worthy Adversary lays low, as if beneath the cover of canopy jungle. Don’t leave this aggression unchecked, or you may find it facing you down—eyeball to eyeball.  Fulton  9.5% Russian Imperial Stout
 Nut Brown   AleSmith Nut Brown is a tribute to one of our favorite British styles. Deep mahogany in color, its rich, malt-forward flavor profile balances notes of biscuit, mild cocoa and earthy hops.  AleSmith 5.0% English- Style Ale
Golden Monkey Experience the sweet, sensual aromas and flavors of our famous Belgian-style tripel. Immerse yourself in rich notes of fruit and spice and savor its dry finish. Victory 9.5% Belgian Style- Tripel
The Unforgiven Rich in flavor and mildly sweet, this amber ale is dry-hopped in the conditioning tank to add a subtle herbal nose. The robust caramel color and flavor is complemented with a frothy head that leaves a thick lacing on the glass. Rush River 5.5% Amber Ale
Banshee Cutter  Aromas of a light roast with slight characters of citrus and honey roll off the frothing head, leading to a crispy coffee sweetness. The balanced acidity of the coffee blends perfectly with the light malty characters. Insight 5.5% Golden Ale
 Namaste   Dogfish Head
 IPA  A well-rounded, highly drinkable IPA. A bit of Caramel Malt barley provides the richness that mellows out the twang of the hops.  Lagunitas  6.2%  IPA
 Big Wave  Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale.  Kona 4.4%  Golden Ale
 Sakitumi  This Raging Bull’uva Double-ish IPA is punched with Sake Yeast and Rice, then hopped-up for a cold-clip of counter-balanced bitterness… it just don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing!  Lagunitas  9.0%  IPA
 Dankbot  With a medium to light malt body, the focus of this beer is hops to truly let them be the hero. A layer of earthy and dank hops on top of bold citrus characters make this beer our hoppiest to date. Insight  6.5%  Extra Dank IPA
 Keller Pils  Traditional Tettnang hops and modern German variety Huell Melon, spicy floral notes and balanced citrus bitterness with malty-sweet and honey undertones.  Summit  5.1%  Pilsner
 Hopolition  This beer was inspired by the hazy IPA’s of the mortheast but with a taste of the midwest. The modest bitterest, bright fruity amroma and light color hides the depth of the intense hop flavor  Sierra Nevada  8.0%  IPA
 Arabicadabra  Arabicadabra is brewed with a cold coffee extract made at the brewery using a combination of fair trade, organic Nicaraguan coffee beans and Sumatra coffee beans. Lactose is also used for creaminess  Bell’s  5.5%  Coffee Milk Stout

Fine Whiskey

Our Whiskey / Scotch Selection (Subject to Change)

Though the exact origins of Scotch are unknown, legend has it the secrets of distillation came to the Scots by way of Ireland here it was introduced by St. Patrick in the fifth century. Scotch was called ‘uisge beatha’ in Gaelic or ‘aqua vitae’ in Latin, both translated as ‘water of life’. Traditionally, Scotch came from four distilling regions: Lowland, Highland, Islay and Campbeltown. Speyside is now distinguished from the Highlands, while the Islands remain a part of that region. Old Capital Tavern encourages you to explore the history, tradition, and character offered by each region.

Bourbon & Rye

Distilling probably arrived in what would later become known as Kentucky when Scottish, Irish, and other settlers began to farm the area in earnest in the late 18th century. The spirit they made evolved and became known as bourbon in the early 19th century. Likely, this was due to its historical association with the geographic area known as Old Bourbon which consisted of the original Bourbon County of Virginia created in 1795 and included much of today’s eastern Kentucky, including the current Bourbon County. Celebrate immigration and the delicious repeal of Prohibition.
